Guest guest
E:-}Greetings: Where do I begin? Well I guess I start by telling what the situation is and ask for your help. I have been a participant and a Moderator on this list from its inception. Most times I look forward to the messages I receive but sometimes I am presented with a difficulty most don't know of because I have never mentioned it. I finally decided to say something. One of the disabilities that I have had all my life till now is a problem with my eyes. I was born with Convergence Insufficiency in both my eyes. So, what does this mean? Well, when I look at an image each of my eyes sees the image but they don't focus on the image together. One eye sees an image that is higher the other see the image lower. They never converge and there is no cure. So far in my life I have struggled trying to do what others take for granted. I have been more prone to falling down, or tripping over my feet. I have been precluded from a whole cadre of jobs in the past because I couldn't type as fast as required. Even though I have had 20/20 vision I am still affected by this. When it comes to this list many people unknowing make it more difficult for me to read when sending messages in. How is that? Well if you have ever written a message where the text is all one big block of words without any white space paragraph breaks this is what I'm talking about. Also, as I have aged my need for larger letters has increased as well. Even with glasses I have stopped buying or even reading magazines and newspapers because I find the fonts to small. The letters have a tendency to just blur together. I have my computer set so that everything comes in at least a 12 point font or bigger. When someone posts a message that is difficult for me to read I have to copy it and move it to one of my other word processors so that I can increase the font and put in some line breaks. Here is my request. I realize that many of you deal with a lot of pain and that typing is difficult. That is a given, but could you put the occasional line break in to help me out? Be Blessed D. Guest guest
Hi , Thank you so much for letting us know about this difficulty! I only wish that we had known sooner :-( I know that I'm guilty of not using enough white space, as I tend to keep things that are related all in the same paragraph, so it sometimes comes out pretty long! I promise I will try to remember to space things differently on this list, and if I do type something that's difficult for you to read, please drop me a line privately and remind me? You've done a wonderful job of adapting to your disability, and I know everyone on this list will do their best to help you out further!
