Guest guest
HEB made themselves the enemy of the thyroid patient, when they lobbied hard for the passage of the bill that allows pharmacies to substitute generics unless the doc hand writes "Brand Medically Necessary." The pharmacies are in bed with BigGen just like the docs are in bed with BigPharm. After that, I decided to boycott HEB. My DH thinks I am nuts because I will not even go to Central Market. I suggest that you avoid all HEB pharms. Try Costco or Sam's, maybe Walmart or one of the other grocery chains. Walgreen's and CVS are quite expensive if you are self-pay. Courtenay wrote: Hey all--Just wanted to let you all know that I went to pick upmy Clonazepam refill on Sunday, and there was aproblem.I picked it up through the drive-thru with my motherin the car, and, to be careful, I counted the pills inthe bottle. They shorted me ten pills, but charged mefor the full 30. Normally, I don't count them down tothe last pill, but I had a funny feeling. And I'mbroke, so I don't want any weird business with any ofmy prescription medications. This is a problem because Clonazepam is a controlledsubstance (tranquilizer). H-E-B claims todouble-check this type of medication specifically tomake sure you get the right amount. I've been shortedby a few pills before, but I had already gotten home, and thought they probably wouldn't own up to it.Ten pills, however, is a BIG difference. Luckily, Icaught it in the drive-thru and they corrected themistake. I am going to call the H-E-B corporateoffice tomorrow to make a complaint. If I had not realized there were only 20 pills in thebottle, I may have gotten to the end of my refill, andnot have been able to explain to my doctor why Ineeded a new refill of a controlled substance when Ishould have had enough to cover my dosage cycle. In short, this would make me look like I wasdouble-dosing-- not a good thing. And not something Iwould do without doctor's advice.Either the person who filled my order was incompetent,or sneaky, and I don't like either option. I will bemoving to another pharmacy for my prescriptions. They've screwed up a few other things, and this wasreally the last straw. If I have any advice to offer, it is to count yourpills then, and there when you pick them up-- nomatter what they are, or how many people are in line. Also, make sure they don't slip you the generic, ifyou aren't supposed to be using the generic. A fewpeople have learned this one the hard way.Best--Courtenay. Guest guest
I have a strange experience every time I go to Walmart for my Armour. They keep giving me partials. It's almost like they are trying to create another reason to lure me into their store. Also, did you all notice that they put their pharmacies in the middle or the back so you'll have to walk past all the impulse buy racks to get to them? Hmmmm ... I miss K-Mart! Sniff. Jan, where do you get your groceries? There's a choice in some parts of Texas? > HEB made themselves the enemy of the thyroid patient, when they lobbied hard for the passage of the bill that allows pharmacies to substitute generics unless the doc hand writes " Brand Medically Necessary. Guest guest
Boy, ain't dat da truth! When I lived in Houston there were a fair amount of different grocery companies. In DFW...I can think of at least 5 major chains. But SA....what a monopoly HEB has here. I hate WalMart but I often grocery shop there just out of spite. HEB is getting a good line of organics though. We do have Sun Harvest and Whole Foods, but the expense and the distance!! I wish that either one would come to the Forum on the Northeast side. > > > > > > After that, I decided to boycott HEB. Guest guest
That's funny! I have noticed that here and in Dallas they put their stores in the more upscale sides of town like North Dallas and far West Plano. What scares me here is having to go up 1604W to 281! And that's also where Sun Harvest is. Talk about taking one's life in one's hands! I just keep praying that they'll find the Forum area a lucrative market because, in spite of the prices, there are lots of things I could still buy there. Sun Harvest doesn't have nearly the selection. > > > > Boy, ain't dat da truth! When I lived in Houston there were a fair > > amount of different grocery companies. Guest guest
Actually, not all Walmarts have their pharmacies in the back... Conroe as well as The Woodlands' are located just around the corner from the door... rebecca > > HEB made themselves the enemy of the thyroid patient, when they > lobbied hard for the passage of the bill that allows pharmacies to > substitute generics unless the doc hand writes " Brand Medically > Necessary. Guest guest
HEB dominates SA because they are based out of SA... In Buffalo, NY, one grocery store is based in the town, so it seems there are a few more of them than others... > > > > > > > > After that, I decided to boycott HEB.
