Guest guest
, Thanks so much for the information - my trial isn't scheduled until August 3rd, with the implant date being August 10th if trial goes well. My psychological review was not as good as I had hoped, but typical of a chronic pain patient with very little relief from pain meds and others. I realize that they won't do the stim unless there is a clear medical need for it (especially since it costs over $80,000, and Medicare only covers 80% of that, but since this stems from an auto accident, that will eventually cover it) -- I just wish they could do it sooner, but my kids will be getting ready to go back to school, so I'll have a better chance of keeping quiet and not overdoing it (something I'm famous for anyway!!) -- I'll keep in touch with you, it's nice to know that there's someone else out there who has been helped by this device, I'm looking forward to trying mine out!! Tracey KY P. S. - My system is going to be an ANS quatrode (4 leads) -- Medtronic makes one similar to that, but my doc likes the ANS system better -- I will have the internal receiver, a small round antenna that goes on the skin right over the internal receiver, and the battery is in the external control device (about the size of a pager) so there's no concern about a battery wearing out -- that makes me feel better, because if there can be a problem, I'm usually one to get it!!! Take care!!
