Q: Why is it helpful to meditate?

A: You meditate to remind yourself that you're not a prisoner. When you

meditate, you can discover and rediscover over and over again that you're not a

prisoner of your mind. It's easy to forget. But if you meditate regularly with a

strong intention, you can keep remembering, you can experience the truth of

the fact that you're not a prisoner. You can't recognize that enough. Because if

you're just lost in your mind all the time, you forget and you believe you

are a prisoner. And each time you discover you're not a prisoner, it gives you a

deeper confidence.
