Guest guest
After my surgery on the 9th, I've been waiting to hear the final pathology report which was supposed to be released on Monday or Tuesday of last week. I callled the endo on Thursday to change my appointment and meant to ask about it then, but it was such a hassle, I forgot. I was seeing the surgeon for the followup today, so I figured it didn't matter. And besides, no news is good news, right? (Yeah, I know, Jan.) Well, I just got back from the surgeon visit. The reason I hadn't heard is because the report wasn't issued until today. They were sending the tissue all over the lab, or outside for further testing (something like that). Turns out there was a very small, minimally invasive cancer. So now they advise having the remaining half of the thyroid out. We're looking at about 6 weeks from now. Ya know, the surgery was kind of an adventure. I'd never had surgery before, so it was an interesting experience. The nurses and other staff were great, I wasn't in any great discomfort, and so on. But it wasn't so wonderful that I'm looking forward to doing it again. And I'm definitely not looking forward to waiting until September for meds. I'm dragging now. And that's my news of the day.
