Guest guest
Hey all, trying to follow this thread a bit. Just wanted to add my personal experience in this area. I'm normally a rather upbeat person in personality and all despite having fibromyalgia/fatigue issues, very large family, lots of stress! But also have struggled with depression off and on. After was born, she's 2, I had a moderately strong bout of post partum depression come on. I'm a 3.91 GPA grad student in counseling psychology and very aware of self-talk or cognitive/behavioral psychology and how it works and firmly believe in it's power. But I can also tell you that in the midst of my PPD, I couldn't " self-talk " my way out of it for nothing! It was a very heavy " physical " depression that no amount of positive thinking could change it. Within 10 days of a low dose prozac, I felt completely better! I also sought a few counseling sessions with our family therapist we have known for years. Hope this helps!!! LeAnn-44 in S. CA PG with #6! Guest guest
Thanks LeAnn. There are just some things that people can't or will refuse to try to understand. I know people that have never felt depressed but they have compasion to understand. That's comforting. pauline Original Message: ----------------- From: LeAnn Kirsch LeAnn_Kirsch@...
