I'm a musician. What I am hoping out of doing this

work is to give myself permission to be spontaneous

and playful again, which I stopped doing in many ways

when I was about 5 or 6. I have so many creative

ideas, but I have trouble getting them out because of

this.

I'm not so much into the " artsy " side of creative, but definitely

into the " craftsy " side. I knit, crochet, macrame, sew, do fine

needlework (embroidery, counted crossstitch, etc.) make jewelry,

quilt, do ceramics, leatherwork, and lots of other stuff. When I was

growing up, my crafts projects were a real source of enjoyment for me

(I wasn't allowed to go out much or do things with friends) and a

real good source of positive self-worth. It was also a great way to

hide - I could start a macrame project on a Friday after school, and

work on it in my room all weekend pretty much non-stop and my family

didn't bother me much. It really helped to be able to tune things

out now and then.

It's like God is saying, 'I place before you a day.  Create with it

what you will out of your mind.  It is my gift to you.'
