Guest guest
Can you please tell us why she doesn't like Armour? The only reason I heard is that it is not as consistent as the synthetic pills but someone else told me that that is not necessarily true. thanks so much, Message: 5 Date: Mon, 4 Apr 2005 19:31:56 EDT From: sle816@... Subject: Re: my numbers and another question Hi kate and all: I did go to two gp's who refused to give me thyroid. that's why I am now back at the endo's office. She did validate my experience, though and said that my thryoid seems enlarged still. I reported to her about the thyroiditis and she said I had probably diagnosed myself accurately. We are going to do some more testing on Wednesday and she did say we might just try Cytomel alone!! Yea! I tried it once before but not alone. However, she did say she doesn't like Armour for all the reasons ya'll have all heard before. Anyway, I did feel heard so that was good. We'll see if action is taken. One of my problems is weight gain. I have gained about 40 lbs and no matter what cannot lose it. I had a RMR test and it was very low. She said according to the results of that test I cannot lose weight unless I burn 465 calories a day in exercise and eat under 1200 calores. What I want to know is have any of you been able to lose weight by getting on thyroid medication? I am not very hopeful. I am postmenopausal and the weight has been on for about 10 years. ( gained after hysterectomy) thanks in advance Steph
