Guest guest
Courtenay: Glad you're okay and that your appointment went well. I always enjoy getting away for a couple of days too. In fact, my appointment is coming up on the 18th! Finally! I am dragging like a two ton weight. I made an appointment for my husband also. Why not? I've heard it can take a long, long time for that iron to budge the ferritin level, sometimes 6 months or more. I'm sticking to mine too. Do you take your Vitamin C with your iron for better absorption? Well, better run to lunch. Take care and you're right, having the right medical care makes all the difference in the world. Thank you again, Jan, for recommending him. > Everyone there is so kind and smart. At this point, I find it so > relaxing to go to the doctor's office, it's like taking a mini spa > vacation. Guest guest
Oh yes!! Absorbic acid is very acidic. Have you tried the buffered C? that might be easier on your stomach. Steph
Guest guest
I cannot believe how much more mentally alert I was on this trip, despite the stupid respiratory infection. The first two trips I made (consultation with blood draw and follow-up), I don't remember anything from our drive to, or from, Lubbock. I would like my spouse to see as well; he's overdue for a physical and has a history of stomach cancer. I will have to try the vitamin C with the iron. The C formula that I've been taking lately makes me a little nauseous, so I've been using it after lunch. Luckily, we only bought a small bottle and both have been going through it quickly. Guest guest
Courtenay! I just upped my Vitamin C to 500mg a day and have been having terrible stomach problems lately. You don't suppose????? Anyone else know of a connection between Vitamin C and digestive problems? > I will have to try the vitamin C with the iron. Guest guest
Ooh baby yes! Start off reeaal slow with vitamin C if you can't tolerate it and look for " buffered " C. Preferably in powder form (health food store). All the time I've been taking it I still cannot tolerate more that 250 mgs. per day, total. Some people, like my son, can eat 4 or more 250 mg. chewables a day in the winter. All depends on the person. Janet

Guest guest
I'm just so shocked I never heard of it and this can explain all my stomach troubles lately, because I did make that switch last week from 250 to 500. Whew, I'm so glad I'm finding this out! Guess I'll go back to the buffered 250 and then maybe take it twice a day. Thanks for letting me know! > Ooh baby yes! Guest guest
Yeah, I'm going to check that out, too. I'm due for a trip to Whole Foods after I finish this series of antibiotics for my stupid respiratory infection. I've been sleeping a lot. Courtenay.
