Guest guest
Sally Hey girl...I have missed you. If you insist on breaking the house, please leave the computer out of it. I need to see your posts here, and have the need to know how you are doing. I do warn you, that I carry along in life my own " black cloud " and have found the phrase " If I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all " to be coined toward me. I have, however, turned this downfall into an upswing of humor. Nothing more therapeutic than laughing at myself, helps everyone else to feel comfortable in laughing AT me!! So my friend, I hope everything is fixed soon...my theory is better get it fixed soon as the next item is about to break... if I have anything to do with it. I am, and I am sure you are too, basicly harmless to others, its just myself I am concerned about. Would LOVE to have a carers reunion, in fact, I am contemplating a Midwest Reunion of sorts. We could even meet in Minnesota, that way you could live out your lifelong fantasy...I would be more than honored to help you find " Lake Wobegon " . There are so many of us located in the midwestern states of the US, that I see no reason why we shouldn't all meet...in person. I have been fortunate to meet with 3 of the caregivers in the group, and have spoken to another 4 on the phone. I am so glad you spoke to as it is wonderful being involved in the lives of others. I have found no other reason (true, honest reason) why I am here on earth than to give of my time and heart. So for now, welcome back, be careful how you hit the keys on the keyboard...be gentle. :-)) Love and hugs! Sandie
Guest guest
Hi Sally, You know who I am but I don't think I ever told anyone my mom's name is Marie. I haven't heard mention of too many of the patients names excepts Sandies dad and maybe one other. Guest guest
I think we can do better than Iowa or Minnesota! Wisconsin in the summer is the most beautiful place on earth, evidenced by all the Illinois cars we see up here. ------ in Madison, WI > Sally > Hey girl...I have missed you. Guest guest
Well now ERIC, the challenge is on...Iowa or Wisconsin. I have talked to a Wisconsin man recently, and others may have trouble translating the language " Up Nort " . Hey, summers in Iowa, well, aren't bad...I guess. May be planning a trip to Wisconsin anyway. We'll take a vote on geography! Sandie
Guest guest
Hi Sally, Just wanted to mention that my wife Judy gets spooky at times which makes us laugh. We will be driving along at night and the street lights will go out. I figure it has to be her. ) Along the lines of a get together in Iowa, I second the motion. In fact I just spoke to Sandie today regarding same. I also figured she should be in charge so what does everyone else think? Dennis I told you so! Dear Group Sally here ( Tonbridge, Kent, UK) just wanted to confirm that I am indeed the 'Queen of Catastrophe', I do possess the 'Trashing Touch' and can manage to bust most electrical equipment by merely looking at it!!!! Yes - I am completely mad (I have known that for some time). Along with my broken electric stove (still not fixed), broken car (still not fixed), broken boiler (fixed!) .... I managed to bust my computer yesterday, just by turning it on! Mercifully God must have heard my screams because I did manage to get it sorted today SO ..... I will sit down and reply to lots of posts tonight when I have more time. It is wonderful to see EVEN MORE folks joining up and I want to issue a huge welcome to 'jr' and Tami. Please could new folks make sure they include their name, name of LO they care for, location (where do you live?) and any other stuff that helps build up a picture. I was really blessed to speak to on the phone on Sunday. She's in the UK (in Glasgow) so it was fantastic to make contact with a fellow carer. I would just love to be able to be part of a carers convention that we could all get to - maybe in Iowa with Sandie ??!!! Guest guest
Hi Dennis - I could not have said it better! We will let Sandie take the lead and follow her directions. This is a wonderful group of individuals who share a common pain. It would be awesome to see each face! Have a good day today, Martha in rainy S.C. Guest guest
Hi Martha, I also want to be envolved, but only under Sandie's direction of course. ;o) So far, and I think Wisconsin would be the place to come to, Vegas sounds like a blast or either of the Carolina's or Minnesota, or Iowa, maybe Illinois.........wow, or heck, lets all go to England and visit with Sally which would be totally awesome. Just the thought of putting this together is exciting. I read everyone's posts and I feel the sorrow, I get angry when I feel the frustrations and I cry when a member loses a loved one knowing my time is painfully near with my dad. It is difficult to articulate what I feel like when I read the posts here and as a result I have a desire to meet as many members as I can. You are all so special. My only request is that we meet somewhere close so I can bring my bike as I owe Sandie a ride down some highway, but my big ole butt can't ride cross country. But heck, if the group decides on some distant place, I will try my hardest to make the trip even if its a bazillion miles away. Sandie and I can do the highway thing some other time. On a serious note, knowing that after we all leave this sometimes cruel world, people in the future will be going through exactly what we are with the uneducated diagnosis's and prognosis's. If we, as a relatively small group of caring people can make a difference, it would be a legacy second to none that I would be proud to be part of. So lets do it, I think we owe it to future generations. Love ya all from up Nort, Dennis Re: I told you so! Dennis - Sounds great to me. Let me know what I can do to help get this together. Guest guest
Dennis Now I have several witnesses noting that you have " promised " to give me a ride on the bike. And again, you have made me laugh with your words, made my heart ache with your pain and future endings with your dad, and comforted me with the never ending outpouring of your emotions. :-)) Hugs- Sandie
