There are a lot of things which help which do not involve a trip to the

pharmacy. If it's persistent, and I know with a lot of hypos it is, you

might want to invest in a colema board. It's a terrific tool. I use it

mostly when people around me are getting sick. I can frequently stave off

the flu by using it early. Or reduce the duration down considerably. It's

a little tricky to use, you have to be careful and very gentle with

yourself. But it's worth the effort. I wouldn't use it daily just as I

wouldn't use any means to force a bowel movement daily.

What works best for me is - right when I get up - I sit down and do my daily

news at the computer. While I am doing so, I am drinking about a quart or

more of very weak tea. Within an hour I have taken care of business and can

comfortably start my day. To be even more effective, make it hot lemonade.

Many folks get relief drinking a couple tablespoons of olive oil in warm

water. Need I mention Castor Oil here? It does work.

My husband, who rarely suffers, can always prompt a movement drinking pickle

juice, of all things.

If desperate, Indulge a craving for cayenne and very spicy food. A handful

of jalapenos will do it, but perhaps not comfortably.

Try drinking a quart of water when you wake up, though. That is easiest,

cheapest and most effective for most people. (I just make it warm and drink

it as weak tea.)
