prednisone question

I am having surgery next Thursday, and my ENT didn't say anything about

DC'ing the prednisone (5 mg a day)before surgery. My primary doc seems

to think that having surgery with steroids on board is a huge no-no. I

plan to ask my ENT's nurse about it, but has anyone got feedback on

that? BTW I'm having my (second) septoplasty and " roto rooter " on

sinuses, since I have chronic sinus infections which keeps me from

doing Enbrel. I am very apprehensive for some reason and would really

appreciate your prayers.

Now that you mentioned it all my allergy and sinus problems started when I was

doing well on the humira and decided to wean off the prednisone. Then I

started

getting the sinus infections and was diagnosed with asthma.

Then I went back on the more pred. when I had to go off the humira because

of the infections.

breathing treatments. I am wondering if the prednisone could have been

masking a allergic reaction to one of my drugs. Hss anyone else had

allergy symptoms increase as they tappered off prednisone?
