Guest guest
I need at least two therapist/trainers to provide a total of about 20-30 hours per week of service to my twins. The boys have autism, are 16 years old, and have had ABA programming in the past (about 8 years of part-time programming of 20-30 hours a week at peak). They recently cleared the waiting list for Home & Community Based Services, a Texas medicaid waiver program, that will pay $8-$15/hour for these services, depending on experience, which will be provided under " supported home living " and allows up to 40 hours a week each. We would like to start at 10-15 hours a week each and build up depending on the trainer's skills. Training areas include language, reading comprehension (they read at about second grade level, but word call at about middle school), community skills (participating in church youth group, restaurants, grocery store, going to YMCA, horseback riding, and Special Olympics, etc.), and household skills (cooking, chores, etc.). Both boys have successful behavior intervention/support plans designed by BCBAs. The therapists must drive, have insurance, be able to undergo a criminal background check, receive CPR and CPI training, if necessary, etc. Supervision will be provided by two BCBAs. Training will also be available from an excellent speech path/behaviorist. We live in the Kingwood/Humble area (front of Kingwood very close to Highway 59 – about 25-30 minutes from Downtown, 35 minutes from the Galleria, 25-30 minutes from Spring/Woodlands, 35 minutes from University of Houston, 35-40 minutes from I-10/Beltway).
