Guest guest
Just found out about a new program Spectrum of Hope – Hope Extended Inspired by the mother of a child with autism and certified elementary school teacher, Spectrum of Hope is expanding our current programs to include HOPE EXTENDED - an ABA Classroom for children ages 6-12. The program includes two levels– Acquisition Classroom and Transition Classroom – and is overseen by Beth Husband, BCBA, Bednar, BCABA and the parent/teacher who envisioned the classroom. All teachers and aides are trained in ABA. Acquisition Classroom – 1:1 Teacher/Student Ratio – Full Time (6 hours/day) and Part Time (3 hours/day) – This classroom is for children to acquire and maintain school readiness skills. Programs are individualized for each child's skill level. The class will be teacher led with aides to assist the students in all areas of school readiness. Transition Classroom – 3:5 Teacher/Student Ratio – Full Time (6 hours/day) – This program is for students who possess at least 75% mastery of specific school readiness skills but aren't ready for a more independent setting. Programs are individualized for each child's skill level and may focus on areas such as social skills, academics, independence/leisure skills or other specific areas of concern. The class is teacher led with 2 aides for shadowing and assistance. This serves as an appropriate placement for Children whose parents prefer a private classroom setting for their child (long term placement) Children whose parents wish to " ready " their child for future placement in a public school classroom (short or long term placement) Children who have entered a public classroom but need additional assistance to be successful (short term placement) Application for the program will begin July 2006 and the program will begin mid-August. Please call 281/894-1422 or email kkwallace@... to request an application (limited space is available) and more information Thank You, Drew Hesson
