Guest guest
Hello all, My son, Matt 8/24/07, ASD diag as of 8/07, is about to begin his big biomed journey. Any feedback about how to make this as painless as possible would be GREATLY appreciated. What should we expect? Any notes from those who have gone before so to speak? We have our RXs from Dr. West, Santa , CA for Valtrex, flagyl, Nystatin and Diflucan. We have put our order in at the compounding pharmacy, and we should have our meds by Monday at the latest. She has given us her advise, and also told us that each child is different and responds to all healing attempts/interventions differently...and has left it to our discretion re the dose for Diflucan as we are willing to do liver checks. Her rec is every three days, and Nystatin on the days off of Diflucan - has anyone else used these in combo? Opinions on their efficacy? We can also opt not to use the Nystatin, and just go straight Diflucan every day. She gave us the RXs and her blessing to " do your homework " before beginning if we think there is another/better approach for Matt. Her approach is to use both. What is the consensus from this site? What has been the most effective dosing strategy for all these drugs based on parent responses on this site? ALL feedback appreciated...it is very intimidating to push out in to what seems, to us anyway, not very well chartered waters....Thanks in advance. We will let eveyone know how he progresses with the interventions of course. We will be doing supplements as well - Pfeiffer Treatment Center's protocol...he has had a good response to the nasal spray (language attempts, one spontaneous sign - " more " , one word " apple " , and muffled mumbled singing of favorite songs, and DANCING (our favorite gain so far)to the beat of much loved kids' song.....Come Thanksgiving, we begin. Wish us and wee Matt luck. All prayers are welcome. Thanks again. Di
