Guest guest Posted June 19, 2006 Report Share Posted June 19, 2006 I have a 12 yo boy with AS who was recently diagnosed I am looking for a good doctor for social skills Also do this type of classes really help? Dad thinks it is a waste of time I don't know what to think. He does not do sports but he is in scouts also does a chess club both are done on a weekly basis. He was also tested at school right before school was out his ARD was the day before school was out the diagnostician said he tested so high they want to test him out of 8th grade so when school starts up in August he is going straight to high school he will test out in Aug and if he passes he will then be in 9th this really makes me nervous but I like the idea of getting him out of the JR High he was at it was a total nightmare I even got him a cell phone so he could call me if he had any problems at school. I was wondering if anyone has had their kids skip a grade.
