Guest guest
Hi y'all, I am new to the group so I am going to introduce myself. I am a 33 year old female. I was diagnosised with RA about march of this year. Due to some complicating factors I was told it was inactive. Turns out it wasn't. I know that sounds strange but it is true. It flared up intensively August 2. I finally went to the doctor about it in early sept when I was unable to move my fingers. I cannot find an acceptable rheumatologist so at present I am being treated by my primary care physician. He has prescribed me steroids. I was a sickly child so now that my immune system is being tanked I am sick all the time. I think today is my last day of work. I work retail alot of fine hand details that I just cannot do anymore. Well I don't want to ramble or seem like a whiny person. I'm really hoping that y'all can help me get through this. Thanks for reading. yes. **off to my last day of work, probably, and totally nervous**
Guest guest
Dear yes, This is the last place you have to worry about sounding like a whiny person. Expressing your feelings about a disease that is more than a little unkind to those it attacks is not whining. We understand here, so feel free to vent any time and welcome....laura theonlyerinyes <erinye@...> wrote: Hi y'all, I am new to the group so I am going to introduce myself. I am a 33 year old female. Guest guest
Welcome yes. I hope you can find an rheumy asap so you can get treatment for RA. Steroids don't treat the disease. All they do is help with inflammation, but they have serious side effects when used long term. The longer you are on them, the harder they are to wean off of them. You need to be on a medication that treats the disease. I have a lot of information about these meds on my site: http://arthritissupport.info RA is a disease that goes through periods of flares. When you were told it was inactive, what it probably meant was that you weren't flaring. Don't worry about feeling like you're whining. We serve whine and cheese every day here and there is no limit. a On Oct 29, 2005, at 11:12 AM, theonlyerinyes wrote: > Hi y'all, > > I am new to the group so I am going to introduce myself. > > I am a 33 year old female.
