Guest guest
School is out for the summer, of course, but in preparation for the Fall I'd like to write a letter requesting that the school evaluate my six year-old for auditory processing issues. Is that how I request it, as " evaluate for auditory processing disorder " or is there other terminology that should be used? My son is currently diagnosed with pdd-nos and is under the autism supplement, has a one-on-one aide, and is in a self-contained classroom. I have mentioned this to the autism counselor in the past and he responded that " all/most kids with pdd have an APD and that however; I have come across very little in the way of treatment approaches or methods of remediation for it. Most individuals with Autism do seem to have problems with it, though it appears to me to be associated with difficulties that people with ASD have in discriminating the salient stimuli in most situations. " Any suggestions are appreciated. in TX In raising my children I have lost my mind but found my soul. - Shepherd
