Guest guest
Welcome Ruthie: This is a wonderful group for support, and information, the personal contributions as to medications and treatments has been invaluable to me, and I am sure you will benefit from our combined experience too. We have members of all ages - RA or another autoimmune disease is the common denominator here - and that is what holds us together - we can say anything, complain, whine, tell of good times and bad, we get it when no one else does. Personally, I am 51 years old, married for 23 years, with a 21 year old son, and 18 year old daughter. I do not work as I cannot find a job that I can comfortably do because of physical restrictions brought on by RA and FM. I was dx almost 7 years ago with RA. I live on a small farm with horses, assorted fowl, and dogs - the animals keep me going, and the horses get me up in the morning with their hungry neighs - otherwise, I would have a hard time getting motivated to do anything some days. No one here will ever think that you are a whiner lol. We all need a good whine and vent now and then, and that is what we are here for. We truly understand what you are going through, and it can get very frustrating trying to cope with what RA brings to your life, and trying to find something that will help. As we say, " whine and cheese served here everyday " , so don't be shy when times are hard. a and (our moderators) can point you toward some really helpful sites which will give you information which will help you to understand more about RA, and how to cope with it. I've learned a lot just reading other member's posts. There is no set course of disease in RA - I've learned to take one day at a time, enjoy the good days, and make it through the bad days as best I can. One of the most frustrating things for me is that we don't know what is going to happen, how RA will affect our lives, and there is no cure. But there are a lot of medications out there and more research every day, maybe even a cure down the road. Are you taking anything other than the Remicade? I am on a combo of meds that I have found helpful in my case, Enbrel, Methotrexate, Mobic, and Ultracet. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right med/combo of meds that help. Also, rice socks, a massage mat, and hot showers help too. Anyway, am rambling on here - hope that this helps - Kathe in CA --- paa3171 <paa3171@...> wrote: > Hi, I am a 34 yr old mother of two and a wife.
