Guest guest
Hi there. I just joined the group this week and I thought I'd introduce myself. I am the mother of two little boys, the older, 5, has been diagnosed with autism. the younger one, 3, has not been diagnosed, but has speech delays, gi problems since infancy. I have been diagnosed with IBS. My older son just started with a DAN! doctor in September and his initial labs revealed yeast...this is what I was suspecting. I only recently recalled that I had three courses on antibiotics within 10 days of his birth and was breastfeeding. Once I remembered that, I quickly made the connection between that, his autism, and my gi problems. I'm thinking the same is going on with the 3 year old. I just got the lab requisition signed...will be sending those off within the week. My main reason for writing today is that I have a doctor appointment with my primary care doc today. I want the same urine/stool labs to confirm yeast in me. I want to know more about B-12, though. How do you know if you need it? I'm sure there are probably labs that they'll want to do to confirm a deficiency before they prescribe the nasal spray...I feel like I have to walk my kids' pediatrician through all of this. I'm expecting the same this afternoon from my doc. Any suggestions? Thanks so much! Kari
