Guest guest
Hi - I'm looking for an Occupational Therapy for Dummies type of book to add some OT into my daughter's schedule. Insurance doesn't cover it, and there is NO extra money in the budget for out of pocket. Does anyone have any suggestions? All I've been able to find are really technical, clinical type books. I also need to address coordination while running for my NT child - he's not a fluid runner and isn't very fast, which is making him ever so sad...he's 5. Thanks! Guest guest
Building Bridges Through Sensory Integration by Ellen Yack,a Aquilla and Shirley Sutton has worked very well for me to work with my son(PDD-NOS). Also, The Out of Sync Child Has Fun by Carol Kranowitz. It has many suggestions for activities to do with your child. I use it with my almost 10 year old and my n/t almost 7 year. Both books are about a sensory integration approach to therapy. The first book gives lots of background info that was very helpful for me. My son's O/T suggested both. Good luck.
