Guest guest
Hi all, It has been a long time since I posted anything but wanted to add something about body temperature. With RA, you have a loss of liquids in your body. This is one of the reasons the doctors in the beginning will tell you to drink 8 - 8oz glasses of water a day. They hardly ever go into why you need to do this but water regulates your temperatures. RA patients have a difficult time regulating temperatures as our bodies are constantly attacking themselves which is why we are on anti-imflammatories. When you are in a flare this becomes worse, you flare and your body uses much more of the liquid then you are used to. If when you start feeling hot, instead of taking off those socks to drain the heat from your body, drink a glass of water and see if your temp doesn't come down a little. Try very hard - I have much difficulties doing this but try to drink that water each and every day and it does help. When I am on my water regimen instead of my Dr P I do so much better. I do know though that when I get hot if I drink a full glass of water it really seems to help. I wish all of you a great Holiday Season. I am sitting in cold Oklahoma wanting some sunshine to brighten my day. I am praying for all of you and I read your posts every day - I just don't have the strength anymore to sit at the computer and right back most of the time. I am doing okay so don't worry too much about me - it is just sitting in front of the computer and typing that causes me a lot of pain lately. I need a new computer chair - maybe Santa will bring me one. God bless, Althea
