Guest guest
Dr Wilfong is amazing. HE is a pediatric epileptologist, meaning he only works with kids with seizure disorders. He is an expert in the field and people come from all over the world to see him. HE is part of the Bluebird Clinic in Houston. Just google his name to get the number. You are lucky because you are in Houston. I would drive anywhere for his expertise. Good Luck Levine in Austin Houston pediatric neurologist Can anyone recommend a Houston pediatric neurologist who is somewhat open-minded? I just need someone to help me with my son's absence seizures and figure out what is going on. Thanks.
Guest guest
I love Dr. -- he is with Pediatric Neurology Associates in Houston. He is in practice with Dr. Zeller. I hear good things about him but have never used him. Dr. returns calls and if I present some facts and research regarding tests, meds, I want to try for my son - he is usually very accommodating. He's way cute too.... Sincerely, Guppy JLJukoski@... wrote: Can anyone recommend a Houston pediatric neurologist who is somewhat open-minded? Guest guest
He has an autistic child himself, who is older, and he understands the day-to day life we all lead better than most docs! He did not do all the new biomed interventions that we are trying, but he is not condescending, he is patient, and he is easy to talk to. Does this help? Guest guest
Two thumbs DOWN to Dr. Zeller (who works with ). Not only did he misdiagnose my daughter, he told me I was over-concerned and neurotic for thinking there was something wrong with the fact that she was talking and pointing and then regressed and lost all communication and receptive language. This was before I myself had figured out the vacc = regression issue. I could write a book about that day, but I'll spare ya'll. Guest guest
I posted before but I must tell you again that if your main concern is to get your child's seizures under control, the best choice is Dr. Wilfong. He is the specialist. He may come across arrogant but so what, he has a right to be. He is the best. I am an RN so I am writing as a parent as well as a medical professional. Good Luck in Austin Re: Houston pediatric neurologist Two thumbs DOWN to Dr. Zeller (who works with ). Guest guest
I think we all have had a good experience with someone that someone else has experienced a bad one. The same is true of having a bad one/ one someone loved. I must say that my son is almost 10. We have been going to Zeller for MANY years. Our family absolutely LOVES him. He has been the ONLY medical doctor my son has related to..so much so that we have actually videotaped his visits for years to PROVE to others that he could relate to others, that he had more speech than the public schools saw, that he knew his colors, shapes and left and right etc... All I am saying is that we must all respectfully take the opinions of others and then do our own research and as with most of our children, it is hit and miss with many practioners. We, too have had to deal with misdiagnosis and a very nice pedi who did not and still doesn't have a clue about autism... at all! If I didn't follow my gut, we'd still be waiting for our son to catch up...sad but true! Best of Luck finding a neuro you feel comfortable using. Guest guest
I have gotten good reviews from Dr. Zeller from parents not on this list, though no personal experience. We did see Dr. Wilfong, however. We spent a lot of time with a resident at the clinic, and had a brief consultation with Dr. Wilfong. He is a highly competent epileptologist, to be sure, though I don't see him as an " open-minded " neurologist who would spend a lot of personal time with any particular patient. We went in for two EEGs (one sleep deprived and one 23 hour) and an MRI to rule out epilepsy. We ruled it out, and that was it.
