Hello everyone my name is I have been an asthmatic for 15 years now and i have it really bad. I have been interbated four times and i find it to be very scared. I have lost my brother to his first asthma attack in 2002. I have been on just about every medication and the only thing that seems to help is the predisone. I suffer more in the winter than in the summer. I hoping to relocate to georgia to see if that will help me get in under control. I would like every to just pray and try to keep a postive mind. Lets support each other. I hope to be as much help as possible and make new friends.diamond332005@...

My asthma is one of the main reasons why I am moving. I want to really try and get it under control. It is very hard to manage here in new york especially living in the bronx. Burke wrote:

Mine can be worse in winter. I attend college so I'm outside between classes and I use a scarf to cover my face as I breathe. Otherwise I stay in as much as possible. You need a new doctor, Marie. The cold air can cause it. I keep my windows closed and I have more problems outside than inside. Lin is right that everyone is different and has different triggers, but I have most of the most typical ones and winter air is one of them. no1friend621 wrote: hello everyone, My name is Lin and i have a asthmatic son who is 13 yrs old.... i wanted to comment on what u had to say.... everyone has different ways about their asthma... my son has his triggers in the winter months mainly.... any kind of infection or any kind of illness that someone has he gets it and it goes right to his lung and messes up his asthma very bad.... the winter i

He's kind of crazy if you ask me. I get worse outside in cold air too. Just do what you must to take care of yourself and don't worry about it. I wish I could afford to move to a warmer climate myself, but I'll manage. marie wrote: We all have asthma....Diffrent triggger it.......I know what trigger my asthma and stay from it...It smoking for sure... Hi !

Sorry to hear about your bad asthma and the loss of you brother. I

do agree with the previous poster that it really depends what your

triggers are whether to consider moving or not. I live in Northern

California where the weather is great year round but as a result I

suffer from seasonal allergies (year-round) which has turned into

asthma. My doctor also told me that if I moved to a drier climate or

to the coast, I would likely develop an asthma response to some new

trigger. But you should follow your instincts!

Glad you are here,

they didn't tell me why, but what from I understand, Marie, is that your

airways constrict (get smaller) in the winter, making it harder to breathe.

(maroon 5 song there... ;) )

Hi. My name is . I have 2 young children, one of which has

ASD. We have been GFCFSF, with lots of restrictions, for approx 2

years and he has been doing very well until recently. He got some

type of stomach virus in September and his behavior has regressed

significantly. I think it is still in there somewhere and that's

why he is having so much trouble. He is also having yeast issues

that we are treating with THreelac and a modified diet.

WE have started seeing a DAN doctor and are supposed to be starting

mb12 shots very soon. It is my understanding that you should have

gut issues resolved before starting MB12 and he clearly doesn't.

I have not been successful with any vitamin whatsoever. The only

supplements that have been effective with him are probiotics,

enzymes, and Threelac. All of which have been great. We saw great

clarity and strides in social development. He eats a pretty balanced

diet but definitely needs additional vitamin support, esp calcium.

Is there anyone else out there whose child has negative reactions

vitamin support? He has significant gut issues that I think are

affecting the absorption.

Meanwhile we are awaiting the hair, stool, urine porphyrins.

Hopefully this will give us some answers. I look forward to

learning a lot from all of you and helping out when I can!

HI. Good for you....do the diet intervention ASAP it has been near

miraculous with our son...SCD, minus Casein. Take back feast without

yeast as you will not find it very useful. Get Breaking the Vicious

cycle and read it immediately, cover to cover. It is a fast read.

There is another mom on this site who told me that her son simply

didn't respond to all the supplements etc and the FAN metabolic

approach. She found a doctor to address his immune system issues

instead with an approach like the one stan used on his son, and he is

doing beautifully per her..we are going to try and go that route.

You need to find a doctor who will treat your son comprehensively -

go to the TACA website and do a search for Stan Kurtz and it will

explain how he recovered his son. I do not know of a dovtor in your

area...read his thesis and his appraoch to healing his kid and see if

you think it is a fit for your own...if so, this group may know of a

dr in your area who can help you. Best of luck. Di

After reading your email, I have to ask: have you had an assessment of

your child's digestion? The reflux issues that are preventing you from

using supplements that are normally required for these children could

be related to low stomach acid and/or a deficiency in digestive

enzymes. Often reflux happens because food gets into the stomach

and/or small intestine but doesn't move "forward" through the digestive

tract because it's being digested poorly. Enyzmes like Zyme Prime

(Houston) might be beneficial.

The assessment you should have done would typically involve an

abdominal (physical) examination, followed by a CDSA (Comprehensive

Digestive Stool Analysis) or CSA (Comprehensive Stool Analysis). If

you can't afford the test, at least see a holistic health care provider

who can potentially determine from symptoms what your child needs. At

least do a trial of the digestive enzymes and see what happens.

Final point: you won't kill any organism (virus, yeast, bacteria,

parasite) in the digestive tract if you don't have good digestion.

This starts with adequate stomach acid in the stomach!

Good luck!

He is currently taking the digestive enzyme Trienza from Houston.

He also take ProBioGold and THreelac. We see the reflux if he has a

dietary infraction. He is currently GFCFSF, nitrate, artificial

color and flavor, and phenol free.

I called LifeTime vitamins, the maker of the CalMag Citrate I used,

and they said it was dairy free but the individual that I spoke with

had no clue that casein was even from dairy, which makes her answer

quite questionable to say the least! In this particular case, it

seems to me that the cal mag had a dairy source because it also

triggered his asthma. Although I think this is the right answer

flor this particular instance it still does not explain why he

reacted so negatively to CLO.

We started with a DAN one month ago. We are still waiting on the

results of the porphyrins, comp stool analysis, and hair test.

Thanks for the information. I look forward to all of the knowledge

all of you can bring!
