Hey everyone,

I'm about to start Diflucan on my son and wanted advice...He's 32

lbs, does 100mg/d sound right? Should I give acitvated charcoal and if

so, how much? Can anyone tell me what to expect...thanks so much, Beth

that sounds good to me, depending on his problem. My son has had the

most stubborn yeast infection for years and he is now on 120 mg, he is

30lbs, and it is just barely helping, with the help of mct-oil and the

scd starter diet, but I beleive many kids do well on a even smaller

dose, I believe Stan's son for example was on 50mg, weighing between 28

and 32lbs (don't quote me on that).

MCT-oil is medium chain triglyceride that comes from caprylic acid. it

has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. a common food source is

coconut. you can buy the oil from nbnus.com for $13.00. It has no

flavor so vey easy to get in.

The dose for the diflucan is right. If your child has

yeast then expect good things from being on the

diflucan. You may get some intial die off for a day or

two but then all good.

Are there benefits of using mct oil over caprylic acid?

We have tried both. MCT Oil had no effect on my boys at all whereas Caprylic is very effective. Just our experience. Too bad because MCT Oil has virtually no taste and is the consistency of water. Caprylic tastes nasty but it works for us.

I second that. Capylic acid was much stronger, and definetly much more

effective, but very bad tasting. My son swallowed the capsules hidden

in Peanut Butter balls. the mct oil can be put in virtually anything

and tastes like nothing besides having an oily texture. It is

effective, but not as effective.
