April 6th, 7-9 p.m. -- “Person Centered Planning:

Never Too Early, Never Too Late”

Person Centered Planning is an intentional approach to planning

and decision-making that focuses on the individual’s preferences, strengths,

needs and priorities in life. What is important to that person? How do we

balance that with what’s important for him/her? And how do make those things

happen? Learn the principles of Person Centered Planning and the steps you can

take to support a person with disabilities to plan for the life that he/she

wants to live.

Presented by G. Buckner, M.Ed., LPC, Community Education at

the Texas Center for Disability Studies.

March 31st and April 21st, 10 a.m. – noon

Health Sciences librarian, Beatriz Varman, will demonstrate how to

easily find reliable health information on the Internet including information on

disabilities, medical conditions, medications and treatments, physician

credentials and more! Internet access and hands-on assistance will be

available, but space is limited. RSVP requested at least two days prior to the

event.
