Guest guest
Last night about 2:30 a.m. some lovely people (teenagers, from what we saw drive off...and my guess would be from my daughter's high school, I am sure) decided to egg our house...except they went for the " kill " ...threw the eggs at the glass in our front door and shattered 3 of the stained glass panes...eggs and glass went flying through the house. I have egg on the dog, the leather couch, table, carpet, front of my display cabinet, leather recliner, and glass sprayed clear to the kitchen (quite a distance from the front door). The police came out and said that whoever did it had to be virtually standing on the FRONT PORCH when they threw the eggs...no other houses or cars in the neighborhood got this, so he said it appeared to be targeted specifically at someone in our family AND was intended to do lots of damage (which it did). I hate to jump to conclusions, but right now I am jumping all over the place! (Let's just say the idea of " hate " crime came into my mind immediately!) Looks like this " criminal mischief " is going to cost us about $500 at a minimum (that we don't have right now.) Anyway, we spent an hour and a half last night trying to clean up (at 3:00 a.m.), and I am still finding glass shards all in the carpet in the living room (even in the dog's fur!) - plus I can't seem to get all the egg off the leather furniture (or out of the dog's fur...looks like a bath for my poor 12 year old dog with seizures and diabetes today!). Has anyone on the list ever encountered anything like this that appears to be related to their child's disability? I wouldn't think that IF other houses had been egged, too, or if it had been the cars but through the front door? And they had to get up close to be able to throw them that hard! I don't know.... nna
