Guest guest
My daughter is GFCF. Does anyone know of any bio med, chelation, etc where their child was finally able to tolerate sugar, fruits etc. Thanks Bridget
Guest guest
Actually, my son got used to not eating sugar and so did I and he was clearly addicted to carbs and sugary foods. This is so much easier when a child is under 3, because they really do get used to eating fruits and veggies, instead of fruit roll-ups and cheese-its. My son snacks on fresh carrots, broc, celery sticks, nuts...he rarely asks for a treat. It was hard for a few weeks...but he got over it. Good Luck. filmei wrote: My daughter is GFCF. Guest guest
Yes, with enzymes. There's a great book out now about Enzymes and Autism. --- filmei wrote: > > My daughter is GFCF. Guest guest
Kim, We use Houston's enzymes here with everything she puts in her mouth. But pre-prepared GF/CF breads, etc, have alot of sugar..so she can't tolerate it. I put a rub from Whole Foods on some ribs. The rub had some surgar in it and GF/CF. Immediately after dinner she was hyper. I mean, no surgar can she tolerate...if you think GF/CF is hard, try no sugar..It's just impossible to cook! ugh Bridget > > > > > My daughter is GFCF. Guest guest
Bridget, I can relate. I know that this is the direction we should be going in. The switch to GFCF was a little hard for us, and now my son has gotten pickier than ever. I can't imagine what I'd do in your shoes. Guest guest
My son is 3, and we've been GFCF for almost 2 years now. His hyperactivity would go through the roof with grapes and many other sugary fruits. I know you wrote your child is on Houston enzymes- do you give No-Fenol as well? No-Fenol is what made a huge difference to how hyper he was, and hence how attentive and responsive. You could also try using Agave syrup or Stevia - low glycemic alternatives that don't give you the immediate 'high' from sugar.
Guest guest
it may not be the phenols, but the oxalates if they are concord grapes....try the light colored green grapes... -------------- Original message from "allgfcf" : -------------- My son is 3, and we've been GFCF for almost 2 years now. Guest guest
Thanks Dana! His oxalates are somewhat high, but my DS prefers green grapes, and I was referring to the light green variety when I spoke of his 'high'. And it happens with other sugary foods as wll- just that its almost instant after green grapes. > > it may not be the phenols, but the oxalates if they are concord grapes....try the light colored green grapes... > > -------------- Original message from " allgfcf " : ------- ------- > > My son is 3, and we've been GFCF for almost 2 years now.
