Guest guest
Dear Tess, I, too, have pain in my legs when I sleep, mostly in my calves and feet, but it also radiates up sometimes. The only way I know to describe it is that it feels like someone is hammering nails into my bones. The longer I'm still the worse it gets. I don't get it when I'm taking Norco, but I only take that rarely because its a narcotic. My only defense is to change position almost constantly. I find it is better when I change where I sleep from night to night, so I alternate between the couch, recliner and chair. When it's really bad it helps to sleep with a vibrating pad under my lower back and my legs propped up on a couch cushion that I've taken to bed. My pain is sometimes accompanied by severe muscle cramps that leave me feeling like I've pulled a muscle. If I take anything sedating that makes me sleep without moving I'm in big trouble. I tried all the remedies--potassium and calcium and tonic water, etc. that people recommended but the only things that help are Norco and moving. I'm sorry you're having trouble with this. If you find any answers please let me know. laura Grammi B <grammi_love@...> wrote: Hi Friends...I am waking up every night with awful pain in my legs from the knees downward...not in the muscles, but deep in the bones. Any ideas what this is? I do have Restless Leg Syndrome, but this doesn't seem to be that. It only happens when I sleep on my bed...if I sleep in my recliner, I do not have the same pain. It wakes me up multiple times per night, and hurts really bad. Love... Tess in Oregon

Guest guest
I get that pain, as well. Mostly down the front of the Tibia (shin bone). I know in my case, it is shin splints. It is painful and right on the bone. I get the muscle cramping real bad, too, in the calves. Not usually at the same time, though. I have restless legs. I think that is soooo anoying. But, I don't get just restless legs, I feel like some nights that I have restless BODY!! Nothing seems to calm it. I think the neurotin make it worse, at times. <<<<sigh>>>> I, for one, am tired of this disease. Any chance that I can exchange it for something else?? I think I can find the receipt!!LOL...Marina > > Hi Friends...I am waking up every night with awful pain in my legs from the knees downward...not in the muscles, but deep in the bones. Guest guest
If anyone has leg cramps and is on statin drugs for cholesterol, you may want to look into coenzyme q-10. It is known that statins deplete our body of Q 10 and when this happens it causes muscle cramps as well as other problems. My dad had terrible night cramps in his legs. When I convinced him to start taking the Q 10, they went away. Do a google search and you'll find hundreds of articles. http://www.wholehealthmd.com/refshelf/substances_view/1,1525,768,00.html a

Guest guest
Friday woke with her hips and knee so bad she could hardly walk. This morning she told me that yesterday and today, her joints still hurt, but her entire leg(s) as well - this used to happen frequently, but not really since she first started Celebrex.Do any of your kids complain of their whole leg (or arm, or whatever) hurting as well as the specific joints? She didn't say it feels as if it's radiating - she describes it as if "her whole bone hurts down deep..." She ran a fever for 3 days, but that was one week ago.Don't know if this is normal...curious what others have experienced with their children. Thanks for any input. (, ja, etc) Looking for a deal? Guest guest
, Normal? Not sure but I know what your talking about. does this. She would describe the pain deep in the bone. Her bone hurt. If I asked her point to it she would say the whole bone from hip to ankle. Sometimes the skin would be sensitive to the touch as well. Connective Tissue Disease was what was told to me on . still has this from time to time. When she was on Celebrex as you mentioned it did calm down. It might be 's body has gotten immune to the dose and may need a adjustment to that medication. will take her a Flexaril when this happens to her. Relaxes the muscles. Call the Dr and inform the Dr about this going on. As this is Documenting progress with her case. RobbinGet a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com. Guest guest
Yes, because it can be the tendons that are inflamed, and they can run the length of an arm, leg, back. would often say things like his feet hurt or the back of his heels. This was because of the tendons. The same with his lower back/hip area. The hip was not inflamed but the dr found that the tendons around the pelvic rim were. Guest guest
, When Jaye was really struggling with this that was her complaint much of the time. She would say that her joints hurt worse some days but then other days she would just say her whole arm hurt or her leg. Usually for her it would be from the elbow to the wrist or the knee to her ankle. Guest guest
Michele, they have commented on the inflamed tendons and ligaments around the pelvic rim...and aside from her hands, her hips and knees the most consistent joint issues. I guess I have a difficult time picturing how that can feel like deep, bone pain when the tendons are more superficial structures of the anatomy? But if , Jaye, and others have experienced it, it must be.Thank you for your input - Her pain and fatigue have stopped her from engaging in any activities this summer; we meet with her rheumy Friday and are ever hopeful for an improved treatment plan.nancy"Tepper, Michele" <MTepper@...> wrote: Yes, because it can be the tendons that are inflamed, and they can run the length of an arm, leg, back. would often say things like his feet hurt or the back of his heels. Guest guest
Thanks , Like I said, this forum has been a wealth of info and support! Today we went to a huge science museum and we left the house with my daughter, Autumn still asleep so she didn't take her naprosyn this morning. She complained for the first time ever that her knee JOINT hurt. And she also pointed to just above her knee on the inside of her leg. It felt warm, but with her chubby three-year old legs I couldn't tell if it was swollen or not. (lol) I hope this doc is a good fit too. It is hard enough to have to deal with a sick child but to have a doc that doesn't agree with the family doesn't help! I can't wait to get this first appointment done with!
