My daughter has noticeable seasonal changes (mood). This year I decided to add more Lithium Orotate and L-Theanine, and so far so good. Unfortunately, it must run in the family because I too suffer from SAD (seasonal affective disorder).

Has anyone noticed a change in their kids at certain times of the year? Both of my son's PANDAS episodes(?) started in October, one at age 9, the second at age 11. In his case both followed, acutely & overnight, exactly 5 days after what appeared to be a 24 hr virus. Beyond that, and even as well as he's doing now at 13, there's definitely a change come the fall. Allergies? He doesn't have profound outward seasonal allergy symptoms but takes Singulair for its immune modulating capabilities.Thank you, in advance.

My son has SAD and Vitamin D3 has been a LIFESAVER!! It took us years

to figure this one out, every fall/winter he regressed, his sensory was

through the roof, his behaviors were out of control and he was a

tempermental little booger. D3 brought back the sweet and patient

little boy he really is. Worth trying.

hi Colleen sorry if you answered this one before but which D3 are you

using?

we have just tried Solgar one and it brought us increased

irritability... it has about 1000IU of D3 and about 3000 IU of vitamin

Dmae, a natural supplement that boosts acetylcholine in the brain, works wonders for SAD. It's also great for attention and speech in some kids. If you try it, be sure to give it early in the morning. Try it yourself for your SAD. :)kcboone wrote: My daughter has noticeable seasonal changes (mood). Hello,

I'm curious about your son's Singulair. What differences did you see after starting it? How did you know to start it? My daughter takes it for her asthma and I've seen great improvement. Hmmmm...

Thanks!

Thank You

I will add Dmae to my list of supplements to get to try for myself. Presently I take a natural anxiety supplement called Anxietol 7. Its been working very well, but I'd like to try the Dmae as well to give the Anxietol 7 a boost.

Hi,

I'm jumping in here because my daughter (5 yrs. old) takes Singulair too, and I saw nothing until my DAN dr. increased the dosage from what my daughter's allergist first prescribed. Now my daughter gets far fewer allergy symptoms as well as less mucus when she is suffering symptoms.

Patty, I had read several reports of the benefits of Singulair for autoimmune conditions. I bounced it off my pharmacist, who takes a particular interest in the treatment of my repeatedly misdiagnosed son. She agreed it would be good to try. Lastly our DAN! gave consent to it and my son started it in June. I cannot pinpoint it as offering a definitive improvement as it was started at the same time as a couple other agents. Let's just say it was an incredibly healing summer for him and I think the Singulair plays a role in that. Without fail, the single biggest gains were made during a 45 day run of Fluconazole in Jan/Feb. I'm interested in trying the vit D3. The SAD theory makes sense. My son plays outside most of the day through the summer and his time in the sun is surely lacking of late. Can anyone offer a suggestion for dosing for a 110lb, 13 yr old? Thanks to

Can I ask what dosage you are using. We use the 4 mg chewables for

my son (4.5 years, 43 lbs.) -- maybe we need to go higher?

Thanks,

My daughter, 5 yrs. old, 49 lbs., takes 8 mg. a day. We recently switched to the granuals because the chewables contain aspertame (sp?). When my daughter was taking both the 4 mg. and 5 mg. I didn't notice any difference. Only when she started taking 8 mg. did I see a drop in her allergy/asthma symptoms along with her mucus output when she was symptomatic.

My child had a severe disintegration at 6.5 yrs. Overnight and continuing until biomed. Began Oct. 19. I have a family history of ragweed allergy.
