Guest guest
Is your child on the spectrum??????? Can you go to a DAN doctor? or maybe you have one since you were chelating.. Yes, the antibiotoc can surely increase the yeast. Do you give pro-biotics? Guest guest
- We don't like our Dan at all, and I need to help my daughter now who is running a very high fever. I don't want her to end up in the hospital. Our Dan said the very first time he met us that going to him would be like having a second mortgage. Dan said she is but that he wouldn't know where on the spectrum until she was older. She has been on the gfcf and bio for 2 years, my daughter is doing great except for getting sick all the time. she test positive for mercury last year. When I tried to CHE it didn't go well. She was miserable.I know I need to pull, I just don't knwo how. Yes, she takes Klair Probiotic 25 billion. She is not demonstrating any signs right now because she is so weak. Guest guest
FYI- Our DAN told us not to use Tylenol because it depletes glutathione. We use dye-free Motrin for high fevers. We use olive leaf extract for strep. It works faster in our home than Rx antibiotics. Lots of vitamin C too. My son takes 10 drops 3X per day. He is 40lbs. If it were me I would try to rid the virus first and then go after the yeast. > My daughter is 3 and has been sick for 3 weeks. 1st wk she had a > throat virus-Dr showed me a red blotch, (I wonder if it was streph all > along.). 2nd week a bad cold Now this week she has had fevers 103.5 > very high. Guest guest
The strep test was negative, but the physician wants to treat for strep anyway? The amoxicillin is an antibiotic and will make yeast worse. Nystatin and other anti-fungals are usually prescribed by your DAN! doc. Concentrate on getting the fever down and keeping her hydrated right now. Pamela " Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared. Guest guest
I'll chime in here and reinforce a couple of comments: 1. Our son has basically never gotten over anything but the lowest grade fevers with Tylenol, but Motrin has been a miracle. Even at 104 degrees, he drops back to 98.7 within 30 minutes of taking Motrin. Alternating Motrin and Tylenol helps during the worst of these things, but we found that generally we could keep even the worst fevers under control with the Motrin only _if_ we could concentrate on keeping him well hydrated while feeling temporarily better under the positive influence of the Motrin. Push the water! Push the water! The more she urinates, the more of the virus she pushes out and the faster she can recover. 2. Yes, antibiotics can cause problems with yeast, but until you get the virus under control, and keep her hydrated, there's no possible way that her immune system could fight off the yeast (IMHO) anyway... get the fever under control, keep her hydrated and hopefully eating to regain some strength, and then add in pro-biotics on top of the antibiotic to help her gut get proper flora balance back. I'd try to rotate multiple different pro-biotics if possible to give the best possible coverage (for what it's worth, we rotate in Culturelle, Kirkman Pro-Bio Gold, Yum-Yum-Dophilus, and Primadophilus Kids blend - the last two are chewable and we basically tell him they're SweeTarts, which he chews up happily). Hope she's feeling better soon - being sick stinks. Good luck, -adam > > The strep test was negative, but the physician wants to treat for strep > anyway? Guest guest
tylenol depleats the body of glutithine...our DAN says it is the worst drug on the market for ASD kids...sorry...Motrin is better he said in h case of high fever. However, high fevers are not always the worst thing....we saw a few high fevers over two years and than tremendous gains with our son, it is the bodies way of detoxing. However, one time, when I thought it was a healing crisis...it was pnemonia...so if she is sluggish for a day or more and sleeping all day, with a high fever and a cough, I would go to the ER. Guest guest
I was reading through your post and just wanted to comment about using Tylenol on a child on the spectrum. My DAN Dr. says it is a big no no. Do you notice any hyperactivity when she takes the Tylenol? My doc told me that Tylenol becomes a neurotoxin in children on the spectrum due to their leaky guts. I would google autism, tylenol for further reference. Good luck and I hope your little one gets better soon. Guest guest
Very interesting! I have a friend who suspects her 8 yo is on the spectrum. 2-3 weeks ago she told me he had a headache at school and she gave him some Tylenol. She commented that he had been so hyper since he had taken it (this was 2 days later)! I had never heard of such but my thinking was it was the food dye in the Tylenol that caused it. Anyway, I've tried to get her on a plan to remove all artificial stuff from his diet (has some behavior problems at school) but she says she doesn't know how to do it. Sure wish she would try it as he would be such a joy if he didn't have his behaviorial issues.
