Guest guest
I just called my pharmacy and the pharmacist assured me that none of his Armour Thyroid was recalled. Phew.. that's a relief. Thanks for keeping us informed!! --- Jan wrote: > Yes. > > Slack wrote:so > what do i do if my bottle doesnt have the lot > number on it? call the pharmacy? > r. > > --- Jan wrote: > > > http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/enforce/2005/ENF00899.html > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo! Guest guest
Oh ch#t. Lovely. Formerly, I had ordered (from out of the country, of course) a 100 count bottle of the 120 mg Armour, but I reordered way back there, because I wasn't feeling as well on it, but also because I had all kinds of trouble splitting these tabs, as they are like trying to split gypsum stone, unlike the 60 mg Armour tabs. I put them in the freezer wrapped in a cloth, saving them for a financial "rainy day". Because of said rainy day, I started using them up, starting about three to 4 wks ago, as I am now out of my Naturethroid and can't reorder for about another 3 to 4 wks or so. I am now taking 75-90 mgs Armour ( hard to be accurate in splitting these things, let me tell you; that's why I think it's an approximate amt in that range) with 50 mcgs of T4 (Eutirox from Mexico). I am wrong for not already saying something about this on our sites, but I really thought that it might be my immagination or "something else", for the way I was feeling at the time. After approximately 2 wks on this one bottle tabs, which I was splitting into 4's of 30 mg pieces, I was feeling all lethargic again. That was sometime during this past fall, 2004. I promptly ordered some 60 mg tabs, and put these in the freezer, as said. The NDC code on the bottle is: 0456-0461-01, one of the NDC codes on the site link you posted, BUT, I have no idea what the Lot # is, or where it would be located on the bottle. There is NO # on this bottle that resembles any of those Lot #s listed for the 120 mg 100 count bottles on that site, yet I do believe that SOME of the doses that I've taken from this bottle ARE subpotent, at this time. Ya know, I thought really that it could have been my "immagination", or "something else", once again, so I've been dismissing it and not saying anything about here on our sites, duh. Is this going to be one of the recalls, Jan, or not? Bad News http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/enforce/2005/ENF00899.html
Guest guest
, I was complaining a few months back that my Armour didn't seem to be working. So, I switched my prescription from HEB to Walmart, just in case HEB's had been exposed to humidity or something, and felt better ... for awhile. Maybe it was a subpotent batch. Now lethargy is back, even after increasing the dose by 1/4 grain. But I'm thinking I might have gotten some of that old HEB stuff mixed up with my " good " Armour. Should have tossed it. I just called the pharmacy and they said if any of their lots would have been affected, they would have received a letter right away, and that when they do receive recall notices, they contact their customers. amt in that range) with 50 mcgs of T4 (Eutirox from Mexico). > > I am wrong for not already saying something about this on our sites, but I really thought that it might be my immagination or " something else " , for the way I was feeling at the time. Guest guest
I cannot imagine that putting them in the freezer can be good for them. When you take them out, doesn't moisture accumulate on the bottle? The one time I had trouble with Armour potency was when I kept it in the refrigerator without taking precautions to protect it from moisture. The NDC code is specific to the medication, not the lot. I need to reread the notice, but I think the expiration dates were all in April, May and June of 2005. wrote: Oh ch#t. Lovely. Guest guest
That's why I wrapped it in a cloth, and no, it didn't have moisture on the bottle, yet I still don't think it was potent, for some reason. Now I may have verification of that, though I see no batch # or code or whatever ya call it. Mine would be due to expire in June, 2005, funny thing. Guest guest
Our hospital built a building next to the hospital and basically control all the real estate. Several of the docs wish they had not been squeezed out of their old places, leased way to much space on the hope of bringing others in. It is handy. You will never get out from underneath the rent however. Luckily around here they have not been able to jump the rates up because the local realestate is not doing as well. You will need some much less space than a traditional practice with the IMP style and EMR , most hospital systems can not think like that.
