Guest guest
Sending you much strength . Courage (unknown) Tommorw we will talk to the doctors and a social workers to see what they will tell us. We have looked at a couple of hospice facilities and Trinty Luther Park which has a alzheimers unit. We were impressed. However, my dad still thinks he is going home and we are waiting to tell him until we know exactly where he is going. We are all very tired and drained. This disease is never easy and just when you don't think he's going to make it, he is up and walking like nothing happend, except that he is confused and getting very pushy. He thinks he is the head of the house and that's all there is. Don't have the energy to read posts yet, but will try and catch up with all the new people and everyone else in the future. Sorry about the spelling, by brain is not working very well. Off to fight another day. C. Adel, IA

Guest guest
Kerry, W - O - W!!! What a great story! So very very touching!!! You can bet I will send that story on to others. Kerry, thank you so much for thinking of the group members and the moderators around here!! You are one heck of a neat guy!!! Glad to know you, too! Warm Hugs, PJ Kerry Standifur wrote: One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name. Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down. It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers. That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual. On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. " Really? " she heard whispered. " I never knew that I meant anything to anyone! " and, " I didn't know others liked me so much. " were most of the comments. No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on. Several years later, one of the students was killed in Viet Nam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature. The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin. As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. " Were you Mark's math teacher? " he asked. She nodded: " yes. " Then he said: " Mark talked about you a lot. " After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher. " We want to show you something, " his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket. " They found this on Mark when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it. " Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him. " Thank you so much for doing that, " Mark's mother said. " As you can see, Mark treasured it. " All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around. Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, " I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home. " Chuck's wife said, " Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album. " " I have mine too, " Marilyn said. " It's in my diary. " Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group. " I carry this with me at all times, " Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: " I think we all saved our lists. " That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again. The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. And we don't know when that one day will be. So please, tell the people you love and care for, that they are special and important. Tell them, before it is too late. And One Way To Accomplish This Is: Forward this message on. If you do not send it, you will have, once again passed up the wonderful opportunity to do something nice and beautiful. If you've received this, it is because someone cares for you and it means there is probably at least someone for whom you care. If you're " too busy " to take those few minutes right now to forward this message on, would this be the VERY first time you didn't do that little thing that would make a difference in your relationships? The more people that you send this to, the better you'll be at reaching out to those you care about. Remember, you reap what you sow. What you put into the lives of others comes back into your own. ---------------------------------

Guest guest
Thanks,Anchita, for sharing the good news. Congrats,Subodh. Could we have a bit more,Subodh, about the story, that prompted u to change from Paediatrics to PSM,please?. Kya hua, jisse aapko PSM se lagao ho gaya.? I remember the time, when we would have some of our lectures in PSM,at Adyan mandir..,in their dept (old medicine ward),at around 3pm. We would all start marching in that hot afternoon sun, from boys hostel, but then 50% of boys would just disappear after Goras Bhandar and the rest 50% of purely dedicated,84 batch boys, would proceed ahead leaving them to enoy a cool milkshake and discuss more important topics about, worldly affairs. We had Prof. Guliani,an ex AFMC,teacher, who would use his vocal cords to the maximum,on 2 occasions, the first, to Introduce the topic for the day and the second time, for the roll call at the end of the lecture,in typical army style. The rest of the valuable 35mins, he would leave the students to pursue other activities like taking a quick nap or reading a novel or playing any game on the back bench. Good old days. Guest guest
Hi Pamela, Yes I have a DAN doctor. He was actually just featured on Montel . We are not doing any of this anti-viral treatment though. Nystatin, Probiotic, Methycobalim-injectible, and some other supplementation. This is the first diaper area rash I have ever seen on my son. He eats alot of rice, too. Sounds like I am feeding into the yeast problem. a Year ago he had urine organic acid testing-turned up higher than norm level of hydroxypropionic acid-that was it. I did not know what that was-from what I can see now it seems it may have to do with Chlostridia, could that be? My son was constantly on antibiotics his first 15 months. We just started seeing the Dan Dr and repeated this test but we dont yet have those results. A year ago, testing was by endocrinologist who saw no reason to pursue any further testing. I wanted to look deeper than that though. We now live in NY. What would my sons labs look like if Diflucan of Flagyl were right for him? Flagyl looks like a herpes medication? I dont get it. Thanks for your help.... Be a better pen pal. Text or chat with friends inside Yahoo! Mail. See how.
Guest guest
Oh, Dr. Bock. You’re in good hands. Diflucan is an anti-fungal. It’s to treat an overgrowth of yeast in the gut. Flagyl was prescribed for my son because a stool test showed that he had parasites. Valtrex is an anti-viral that is used for Herpes. Pamela " Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. Guest guest
My son recently began Nystatin, Inj B12 and B6 and P5 p in addition to his other supps. Yesterday his poop was green-bright green- and his appetite seems down again. Does anyone know what thi might mean? He did not eat anything green at all. The liquid zinc has increased his appetite and also the variety he would choose (foods). This seems to have changed. It is as if he does not feel well. Get easy, one-click access to your favorites.
