Dear Family...

I share this because it seems lots of folks are experiencing depression, for

many reasons. I know we all experience it in different ways, but putting the

'process' to words seems, somehow, to take away, at least a bit of it's power

over me.

Depression~The Evolution of Despair

the trees aren't as green

the sun isn't as bright

babies smiles are sullen

day turns to night

candy loses it's sweetness

perfume has no scent

animals seem indifferent

the willow limbs lose their bent

my pillow has no softness

the sheets are sandpaper made

though safe and warm and in my home

my being is utterly afraid

then caring becomes too much a chore

and apathy settles in

mean spirited, cruel, and tenacious as hell

depression is wearing a grin
