Guest guest
obviously, organization appears to mean different things to different people. none of us could do what we do on a daily basis without organization. as a matter of fact, each of us has an organization-- our offices and businesses, which couldn't otherwise function. when i suggest organization, the term conjures up bad experiences some have had, with further deterioration into "right" brain vs "left" brain thinking. i'm just waiting for the "masculine" vs "feminine" thinking argument/justification/rationalization, and then a descent into a discussion of IMP as a feminist movement, LOL. rather than go there, let's look at this from a form follows function perspective, and specifically from a needs determines framework concept, and i'll ask a question-- is there anything, which we as individuals, want and/or need with respect to our businesses and how we practice medicine, which would benefit us and our patients, which could only be gained through a group, and not as individuals? think hard. if not, we're done. if yes, is there already an organization which performs or could reasonably perform this function? if so, then one can belong to that organization on one's own. if not, i think further discussion of organization is warranted. i've asked lou spikol what are the benefits of belonging to aafp, and he could not give me an answer. what would mao say? into the cauldron once again.
