Guest guest
Several people have mentioned lately that they are wanting or planning to re-start their challenge because of various factors. This seems to be a recurring theme that continues to come up. Here's my thoughts on it.... First of all (as I said in an earlier post today) life does not hand you any " Do Over " cards. This is exactly what Bill refers to as adversity. This is also why he says to get over it and move on, whether it was an unplanned Free Meal, an extra Free Day, a missed workout or whatever. Three words: Get. Over. It. Secondly, if you let yourself re-start something that you *committed* to finishing in 12 weeks, then you have broken a self-promise. Usually the most important self-promise that you can make when you start a 12-week challenge is to simply *finish* it. Plus, it's like Brett always says, it's not like there is any " end " to the 12 weeks, you just go through your off-week and go right back into the Body-for- Life-style. Last, if you really think about it from an outside perspective, re- starting is sort of a ridiculous concept. Case in point... in order to get to work in the morning, you must leave your front door, walk to your car, get in and drive to work, right? If you trip and fall down halfway to your car, do you get up and continue on to your car, or do you turn around, go back to the front door and start all over again? See? Silly, isn't it!?! NO ONE has a perfect challenge. Not even the BFL champions. So if you are thinking of re-starting now, or at any point in the future, don't do it. The feeling you will get from keeping your self-promise and finishing what you started far outweighs the " fresh start feeling " you *might* experience from starting over again. Trust me. Jen B.
