Guest guest
I've used it on my son, it is just S. Boulardii, but they claim to have the best way of growing it or something like that. Caused an excellent die off for my son. Is not dairy free. We use the Kirkmans brand now for maintenance, and its musc more reasonably priced, although I can't really remark on its effectives better or worse. Can't tell because of other therapies. Guest guest
I loved Florastor, worked great and could be given with food unlike regular sac.boulardii which is recommended on an empty stomach. Very nice product and works. Florastar Is anyone using Florastar? Our DAN mentioned it, I've heard of it but haven't seen it mentioned in any posts...any thoughts?Angie
Guest guest
It is saccharomyces boulardii, however florastor has lactose in it, something you should be aware of.Kirkman make it without lactose. It was the only thing that helped my sons yeast problem. Diflucan only kept it in check, but two weeks after the diflucan ....full blown yeast again. If you suspect a large amount of yeast in your child, be sure and have some activated charcoal on hand, as the SB or florastor will give you a big die off of yeast and large amounts of toxins. goodluck > > Is anyone using Florastar? Guest guest
I tried it on myself and my child and we didn’t handle it well. I seem to recall that it contains brewer’s yeast. Double check on that though. Pamela " Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared. Guest guest
Thanks , I've been told it has casein in it? I'm guessing that didn't cause a problem? Guest guest
I don't think there is but a tiny, tiny amount of casein in Florastor and "they" say it is not enough to bother kids who react to casein. However, I will also say that ours was never one who reacted to milk, actually got worse, lost language and weight and got huge dark circles under her eyes when we did the diet, so no diet for us. If I had a child who was hugely reactive to casein I would probably not use it. Florastar Is anyone using Florastar?
