Guest guest
I wonder whether the data entry redundancy between your EMR and RelayHealth (i.e. the missing connection between the two) can be a problem. I would get annoyed copying and pasting notes between RelayHealth and my EMR. How do you feel about that, Tim? Has anyone ever approached RelayHealth about interfacing with Amazing Carts? Thanks, Marius
Guest guest
I have been using e-mail with patients for about six or seven years and using relayhealth for about four years so I thought I would chime in here with some observations. 1. Overall, I believe convenience trumps confidentiality as far as patients are concerned almost every time. They are so happy to be able to contact you in this method, that in spite of what is trumpeted in the press about confidentiality, most patients are not overly concerned, therefore I believe: 2. It is our responsibility to ensure sound methods of confidentiality in our communication. Although I believe there is no law are mandate beyond informing patients about the non- confidentiality of open e-mail, I agree with Re: forcing people to do confidential e-mail with some method whether it be direct encryption or some type of Web portal. I think this is the state-of- the-art in 2006. I like relayhealth for this reason and the fact that there is e-mail archives. I am forced to cut and paste the information into the electronic record as well and although it's not overly onerous (many times I refer to it in the history of present illness), I do wish there was a direct linkage.
