Guest guest
That's interesting. I don't know anything about Ring Central. But about OneBox I've noticed the only time my faxes don't go through is if I try to reply to what I think is an automated system. For example, if I get an ED report for a patient who is no longer mine since I moved, I can't simply hit " reply " or " forward " and fax back to the same number because the hospital has an automated system for sending them that doesn't receive faxes. So I now have another number for the records dept in the hospital that I use. Same goes for a couple of specialists who use automated systems to fax out reports. Now I have an almost 100% send rate with OneBox. .... the frustrating part of OneBox remains the receiving of some faxes with sections/lines missing when sent from some secure systems (like hospitals)... it's improved and seems to happen much less often recently but still rears its ugly head frequently enough. Perhaps you lucked out with the fax selections. Please let us know about any other testing you try and your final choices. Guest guest
Tim et al,I posted a " jumbled fax workaround " in the UpDox help forum at:http://www.apractissolutions.com/discussions/viewtopic.php?t=41 & highlight=faxAs the jumbled faxes only tend to come from secure servers and if you regularly recieve faxes from them, You might want to configure your computer fax modem to recieve these faxes over your hard wired phone line. I have found it very helpful to use my hard wired phone line and windows fax service to do my local faxing. It saves money on the internet faxing that adds up very quickly at .10 a page. It is really handy when a life insurance company requests a whole chart. I will fax it to their toll-free fax number via my phone line at the end of the day when I know I won't be using the phone. Guest guest
Thanks for clarifying. Yes, that's the problem I get often with the OneBox system... " wrinkle effect " ... I like that description. Please keep us upto date about Ring Central. It sounds promising. Tim -- Malia, MD Malia Family Medicine & Skin Sense Laser 6720 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd. Guest guest
Hi Janice, I am demo-ing Amazing charts, updox and considering either onebox or ring central. Does ring central work with updox? Can you easily get the faxes into updox desk top so it can be filed into Amazing charts? do you see any cost difference? Are you charged per fax and phone call? Lee ring central I tested Ring Central today and had 100% perfect transmission of 7 faxes sent in am or pm and only 40% perfect transmission of faxes through One Box. Because of this I am thinking of using Ring Central with Updox and not OneBox. I won't have a one box email address but I can use any other one. Ring Central seems pretty user friendly. Anyone else using Ring Central? Janice Pegels
Guest guest
Tim, My problem has not been transmission per se but sections of lines missing or only showing the top or bottom half (the wrinkle effect) so that some lab values are obscured or occasionally the patient's name is obscured(!) so I had the same faxes sent at the same time to either Ring Central or Onebox. Not a single wrinkle effect with Ring Central and with Onebox 60% had the wrinkle effect in either the lab value sheet or the fax cover sheet. Pretty conclusive.
