Guest guest
Hi all, We are having a bit of a problem with my son yelling when he disagrees with something someone says or asks him to do & I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and what they did about it. On the one hand, it's great that he's being verbal and it's fine if he wants to disagree, we can work with that, but the yelling is driving us crazy - his negative answers are always super loud - and it doesn't matter that the person who asked him to do something wasn't mad or yelling, sometimes we even whisper or get quiter in hopes his response will be a normal volume instead of yelling. He yells at home, he yells in stores, and basically everywhere (I can't tell you how many times I've run to get something a few isles over in the store and I hear my son yelling at my husband " NO LISTEN, NO BEHAVE, NO... " We've started using little cards with phrases to read or picture symbols and phrases that we hand him to read and that distracts him for now, but we are concerned that he will just get used to them and they won't distract him for long. Any suggestions or ideas would be great. Thanks,
