Although using 2 days prior to the AAFP Scientific

Assembly would work best for time management, I think ideally we should meet

prior to that (late spring/early summer) so we can begin to really get our

message solidified prior to the SA. I wonder what others think.

IMP Camp/Camp Gordon

Hi group,

We had discussed this earlier, and I have a list of those

that were interested. I’m trying to figure out if this is something

we should pursue or drop. I am willing to work on getting it to happen

here in Colorado.

The main concern I heard (or saw, being email ;) ) was that

of taking more time away from the office, assuming many of the same people who

would attend Camp Gordon (as my husband calls it) would also be theoretically

attending the AAFP ASA in Chicago in Oct, and then the AAFP/STFM meeting in

Newport Beach, CA in Nov I believe. I was proposing Camp Gordon

in early summer to go through IMP stuff – swapping ideas, brainstorming,

rehearsing AAFP lectures, working on FPM articles, etc.

Are people interested in a separate time to do this, or

should we meet a day or two in advance of the AAFP ASA in Chicago,

for instance?

Thoughts?

I would really like to meet, in Colorado in mid-July. My kids are in school til Jun 9th, would like to make it into a family vacation. Just my opinion. Also, I am not a member of the AAFP. I did my internship in the Navy (just down the road from Brady) but my residency was at an osteopathic hospital so I have to maintain membership in the ACOFP to maintain board certification and I just can't afford the dues for both. Chicago is only a 5 hr drive so I could come to a meeting up there too... Anyway, my 2 cents

: Would love to have you up to the Windy City. Chigcago is a great place for meetings and lots of stuff for families to do. I have never been to Colorado, but can imagine great fresh air for your children and my three boys as well. Either would be great. mkcl6@... wrote: I would really like to meet, in Colorado

I would also like a seperate conference. I'm planning on going to the Chicago conference (in our midwestern backyard) but agree that having some time to solidify information in my oh too stretched brain before the SA would be nice.
