Guest guest
Thanks Pamela! I think it was your post on the listserve about 700 posts ago that got me thinking about motivational interviewing as a technique. I'm now reading the and Rollnick book MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING, but it seems hard to me to know when to switch from lecturing: " behavior X is not good because of blah blah blah " to the more collaborative approach " how important is it to you to change behavior X? " " how confident are you that you can change behavior X? " I guess it will get smoother with practice and integration. Are there some other resources that you've found helpful? Guest guest
you can get your library at the hospital to purchase a DVD set on motivational interviewing. I forget the name of the one I got but it was a 6 DVD set or something like that. Just google and look around. If you are not successful I'll try to dig up the one I got. Pamela > > Thanks Pamela!
