Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am a 61 year old female from Michigan. I have had fibromyalgia for many years, but was recently diagnosed with a Auto Immune Disease, it was based on bloodtests. My Dr explained all of the possibilites (medicine wise) but most were scarey and sounded like chemo drugs, one was shots but he said If I took them and got a serious bug I could die because it would wipe out my immune system. He then ask me if I wanted to go see a rhumatologist and I said NO , not if you can treat this, (that was because the $$$$) would have been hard for me to come up with to see a specialist. My Dr is a internist. After hearing about the drug choices I ask for the one with the " LEAST " side affects first so he is giving me 2,400 mgs of ibuprofen a day. Do any of you think that will help? I sure am in a lot of pain. I have major surgery coming up in about 3-4 weeks, I have a benigh tumor in my left side so I am not sure about any strong drugs since I have to have that done. I am waiting for cardiac clearence before it can be scheduled. I have been having chest pain and I'm not sure what the heck that is, the fibro, the immune system or my heart. I am getting so discouraged, I just dont know where to turn. I need all of your thoughts on this darn disease!!!!!!! My Dr was not able to tell me which of the auto immune diseases I had, he just knows I have one based on blood tests, he found that out when he was checking me for Lupus. Thanks, Shirley True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.
