, I also take 4 but I've never had any reaction to it (except thinning of

my hair) although 4 has been my top amount so far. It started working for me

pretty quickly from what I can remember, that was 8 years ago. Good Luck with

it! mary in pa

I'm taking 4 a week. And knock on wood, the naseau hasn't been around

today, nor the headache, so maybe it will only last the first couple

of days!

Hi I take 8 a week and on Thursday the day before I take it I feel terrible

but on Fridays after I take my eight I feel great, like I said at first I

had the headaches and nausea, but now not a problem at all except a thinning

of my hair but that is why Dr has me on folic acid too

no, I've been on remicade since last July but I really don't think that that's

doing anything, I see the dr in 2 weeks, I'll see what he says then. mary in pa

Hi ,

I've been taking MTX for almost a year now. I started on 8 pills every

Thursday about 4 months ago. I also take 1mg of folic acid daily. I

pretty much write Thursdays off as my fuzzy day, a day to make no major

decisions, etc. What works for me is to divide them out at 2 pill

intervals and eat a few crackers with them or a slice of cheese. By

doing this, it's gotten rid of any nausea or headache. I'm at the

point now where I am actually looking forward to taking them tomorrow

for that boost of energy I get after taking them. I've also started on

Enbrel, am almost 2 months into that. I've noticed that overall my

energy has increased, but the fatigue still comes on at times, the

aches and pains still exist but they are not 24/7 and that's a good

thing! Hope this helps you!

Jolene,

My husband takes MTX, and last week his Dr. added Plaquenil. So far

no side effects.

By the way, I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my request

about methotrexate and having a baby. The info was very helpful.

And thank you for welcoming the loved ones of those with RA to your

group. My husband will not take the time to inform himself, so I am

very grateful there is somewhere that I can go to get the info for

him.
