Guest guest
up to this point, i have not looked closely at the financial management portion of AC, however, you can bet your boots i will be now. the other thing i am thinking and wondering is, does OA do any of those functions, and can i have AC and/or OA interface with quicken home and business to do any other necessary functions? i don't know the answers yet. i will have a much better idea tomorrow @ 0800, when i am scheduled for training with OA. until tomorrow, same bat-time, same bat-channel. Guest guest
Larry, I don't know much about AC, but I have used OfficeAlly quite a bit, so take this with a grain of salt. Can AC produce the " print image " format? The " print image " format is just a simple ASCII file with the same information as the CMS1500, but it's not the same thing as what you actually print when you print a paper CMS1500 file. The " print image " file actually is NOT for printing, as usually it wouldn't line up correctly on the blank form on different printers. They usually use .pdf for the file that actually gets printed on paper because the fonts, and position of the printing can be controlled precisely and is consistent between different printers. But I don't think OfficeAlly can import .pdf files. So if AC can only give you a .pdf, it may not work with Office Ally. But you could still use their on-line claim form variant. But I don't think that variant has much, if any, ability to do aged accounts receivable etc. What Office Ally has you do for the " print image " files, is submit a batch of at least 10 claims, preferably with different payors, and variations on other pieces of info that vary, such as where the little boxes marked by X's are located. Then they " Map " your files so they know on what line and how many characters over on the lines to look for each piece of information. Then they reformat your print image claims into the HIPAA require ANSI X12 837 V4010A format and forward that to the clearninghouse for you. Guest guest
Marius,I will chime in, but I am still in the process of setting up EZ Claim and don't knowas well as other users. EZ claim provides the basic account analysis reports for tracking reimbursements, Aging etc. I haven't run any of these reports yet, but I know they are in there. Guest guest
Having a dual montior setup simply means that you plug two monitors into your computer instead of one and essentialy double your computers desktop workspace. In order to do this you need to have a video card that will support a dual monitor setup. Many off the shelf computers today have this as standard. If your computer is older and your video card will not support a second monitor, you can check to see if you have an available card slot in your mother board and you can simply add a second video card to plug in your second monitor. You need to configure the desktop in your display settings in widows so that you can move the cursor back and forth between the two monitors as if it were one screen. I typically use it the way that Janice described. I run UpDox on my right monitor and Amazing Charts on my left monitor. It saves me an awful lot of time in minimizing and maximizing applications. My " left " monitor is on a swiveling base and is positioned near the patient so I can turn it to the patient for educaiton, looking at xrays, etc. For the added functionality for minimal investment, I highly recommend it. Guest guest
Larry, I am interested in continuing to hear how OA works for you with AC since I am also considering billing systems at this time and maybe an accounting system. By the way, I was exposed to the use of a dual monitor set up when I visited 's office and decided to purchase an inexpensive monitor that hooks up easily with my new laptop and I am astounded by the versatility of having two screens displayed at once. AC is usually on one and Updox is on the other or Internet Explorer or whatever. It makes everything so much easier. Even my 15 year old son was impressed that his mother knew something about computers that he didn't. Of course, he wants one now...
