Guest guest
There has got to be a way to " fix " our school systems. For a school to go to due process and appeal over 150 minutes of in-home training should be criminal! J.K., (S.D.Tex.) December 12, 2005: Disabled Students - Implementation of IEP which reduced planned parent training sessions did not deprive student of FAPE. Implementation of the schedule of parent and in-home training set forth in an individual education plan (IEP), under which only four of ten scheduled parent or " in-home " sessions were provided, did not violate an autistic student's right to a free appropriate public education (FAPE), notwithstanding that child's toilet training at home regressed, absent a showing that the child regressed overall or in several significant areas. The Court vacated a decision of a hearing officer that the school district denied the student a free appropriate education and that student should be awarded 150 minutes of compensatory in-home training.
