Guest guest
Speaking of appointment quest, I just set it up this weekend to start using in February and had a few questions of those of you using it. Do any of you use the custom form to ask patients for the reason for their visit? And how is this working for you? Also, I am confused about the "delete" button. Is it necessary to press delete for the visit to be removed from the schedule or is the cancel button adequate? Do you let patients have the option of pressing delete? Guest guest
I find the custom button asking for reason for the appt to be very helpful. It's required when one of my patients makes an appt. There's been a few times I got the email about the pt making the appt, I saw the reason and proceeded to call the patient and got them a much earlier appt (like today instead of in three days!). You can cancel the appt and it will come off the schedule, but it will remain on the patient's list of prior appts and marked as " cancelled " . If you fully delete it as well (it's a two-step process), it'll come off the shedule and not be listed as a pt's prior appt. ....for example... patient is booked for a depression follow up next Monday but I see them for a sore throat today ... during the sore throat appt today, we cover the depression issues, so I go and cancel the appt for next week AND delete the appt because it was effectively completed today. But, suppose patient calls and says, " I can't make next Monday's appt and I'll need to catch up with you in a couple weeks to re-book it when I know my schedule. " ... I cancel the appt off the schedule, but it remains on the patient's appt list as a cancelled appt. And, for that matter, I take 40 secs and add an addendum to the AC chart about the cancelling ... and, if I think the follow up is important enough, set up a scheduled message on RelayHealth to go out to the patient in a week or two saying, " in case you haven't re-scheduled the appt, please contact the office... " It's just the way I work it and all of us are different. I hope that helps. Tim -- Malia, MD Malia Family Medicine & Skin Sense Laser 6720 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd. Guest guest
Hi.Almost every one of my patients pay at the time of the visit so I have very little need for an in depth billing system (my AR after 5 months and a panel of ~250 patients is $40 - and she and I both remember that she owes me $40).I use and love Appointment Quest - the patients love it too - half of the patients I saw today were self-scheduled - so easy. Hope that helps. Cash Only - Billing & Appointment Software For those of you doing cash-only practices... Guest guest
Dear , We started with Quicken for our six months of start up and the first year of practice. Then at the request of our accountant we switched to Quickbooks Premium for Non-profits. Because we are 501c3 we may have more accounting issues than the average IMP. We are three employees (2 docs and 1 MA) of the non-profit org and getting the payroll, payroll taxes, and keeping the financials all in the right column for the accountant to depreciate and create a budget became too confusing. After taking a turn for one year myself and then RJ doing it the second year, we came to realize that paying the accountant's bookkeeper $250 per month to make the whole headache go away was a great idea. For our part, that may have been the smartest piece of outsourcing we ever made. IMP does not equal doc must do every mundane chore. Do what you are best trained and or enjoy doing. If it isn't too painful -- outsource the rest! Regarding scheduler, please see my email posted earlier this evening.
