Adult on spectrum needs diagnostic help

Good morning,

I'm writing on behalf of a woman on the spectrum in Northwest Houston

who has been trying to

get treatment through MHMR. She's been told because she's a high

functioning Autistic, they could not get her treatment under MHMR with

a diagnosis of Autism, and they diagnosed her with schizophrenia and

put her on Med's that she reacted poorly to. She's looking for

diagnostic referrals who would accept Medicaid.

Any information is greatly appreciated. Also, I'm hoping there any

fellow posters who are on the spectrum who would be willing to

correspond with this lady. I've encouraged her to join TAA, but I

have a feeling she needs to have some basic needs met first.
