Guest guest
Bob, I am meeting with my priest again this Monday to discuss some ideas. I have more questions after some reflection. My recent experiences from volunteering at a nearby free clinic is that numerous walk-ins show up, some for refills, some for acute and/or chronic problems, and some for physicals. Very, very inefficient. This clinic is only open one night a week, so this may be a big part of the problem. Do you face these challenges, and if so, regularly? Also, with a salary cap, how do you define your responsibility? I can see being asked to do more and dedicate more time without any change in personal income. How do you set your salary? Also, I can see that the monies could potentially fund other projects, such as mental health, dental, community classes, more services, etc. How do you kee from growing and expanding out of control? Who decides what is acceptable, or not, for the practicioners? You see that my mind/ego is stepping up its role in my exploration of this model. Please help me to appease it so that my intuition can play a more prominent role. A computer/ISP and/or marketing person might be helpful too. Further contact will spring from the group. I would probably approach them one at a time and see if they would be willing to come to an informational meeting. You should feel free to invite more than one person from each field if available. It would help if they new each other or were invited by your priest; " Father Joesph and I are having a meeting to explore a really neat new way to provide health care to the uninsured that I think could work in our community. " Then hand them a copy of " Looking for Luke " from our website. Also have your priest or other community clergy (spiritual advisor to the Board) come and give them a brief 15 minute introduction to how St. Luke's works. Don't tell them it is an invitation to join the Board. If they are interested, they will be happy to help. He thinks that reaching out to other leaders of local churches may be an effective way to gain support. I am wondering about what the next step would be. I know a few business people in our parish, and I think they would be supportiv Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo! Mail beta.
