Guest guest
The first few weeks were extremely hard for me to adjust. In the afternoons I often felt like putting my head down on my desk and taking a nap. One of the reasons for starting the challenge was that I wanted more energy but I seemed to be going in the wrong direction! After those first few weeks though my body adjusted and I started feeling much better. You're working your body pretty hard if you're hitting those 10's. Give yourself a few more weeks and see how you feel. P.S. My posts seems to be taking forever (8 hrs?) to appear so sorry if this seems like a slow response. --- mah236@... wrote: > Am just starting BFL. Guest guest
It depends...the usual test for me is that if I feel awful from the neck up then I give myself permission to rest. If I'm feeling tired or sore (below the neck kinda stuff) then I usually will try to work through it. As you continue to work on shaping your body you'll get a better feel of what you need to do and especially what you'll need to do to meet your goals. Also, I read that you're only eating 1200 calories. I'm 5'3 " and about 129 lbs. and I'm eating about 1500 calories (or more). If you haven't already, check out the Hussman site to calculate your BMR to make sure you're eating enough: http://www.hussman.com/eas/ --- mah236@... wrote: > Thanks - that helps. Guest guest
I don't know about feeling awful waking up, but I do know when I wake up in the morning, I am not at all overly enthusiastic about going out and running 20 minutes cardio. However, I get up like it is my duty, get dressed and do it. Then I feel much better afterwards. Andyman > Thanks - that helps. So do I make myself do my workout even > when I wake up feeling awful? Guest guest
I know the last thing I want to do when I wake up is work out. Especially when I'm tired. However, I think of it this way. If I wake up and work out, I won't have to worry about it for the rest of the day. If I save working out until the afternoon, I dread it all day. Ann V. Guest guest
Thank you so much to all that answered me on this subject. It helps me to keep going because when I feel so tired I think something is wrong with me and I want to quit. But from your answers I can see that it is common in the beginning. I guess I didn't realize though that it takes as long as it does to get over it. I was thinking that after a week or two I would be past it but from listening to you all, it might take longer than that. And the amazing thing is that I have been exercising for years but I guess not hard enough.
Guest guest
My absolute favorite late-night snack is an egg-white omlette. I'll make it with either salsa or cottage cheese/dill. I've also sprinkled protein powder in it for extra kick. -- -----Original Message-----From: Leigh Sent: Tuesday, September 18, 2001 4:31 AMTo: bodyforlife Subject: Re: FatigueI usually have a protein shake as my final meal, around 9pm.
